So finally I am getting around to posting about the seconf half of Zach's sabbatical and Labor Day Weekend which already feels like a lifetime ago. Ha! After our trip to Alabama, Zach went off to the mountains for a little r&r by himself. On Friday, Allie and I went to the mountain getaway too and it was a great time for all of us to slow down and enjoy each other's company.
NC Country roads
On our way there we stopped at Becky's Corner Store and Grill, a gas station/restaurant on our route. This was pretty much the only place to eat, but it was surprisingly good and not surprisingly unhealthy.

Dusk in the smoky mountains
We were so humbled to be able to use an incredible vacation home belonging to one of our church members in Charlotte. It was the perfect getaway for us!

Zach isn't one for board games, however he and Allie had never played Clue before. Shocking I know! I had to introduce my two favorite people to this game and...
They loved it!!
It was Miss Scarlet in the Ballroom with the revolver! :)
We also indulged ourselves and made chocolate cake waffles. It made a complete mess of my waffle maker, but...
It was pretty tasty.
Allie enjoyed working on a puzzle while we were there too.
Saying goodbye to the mountains before we headed home to Charlotte.
Over the weekend we hung out with our friends Christy, Emma, and Annie. Oh, and let's not forget Sammy, the gigantic Newfoundland. :)
Swinging in the backyard
Zach, Annie, and Emma giving Allie the best start ever on the tree swing.
The girls had a blast that afternoon playing in the playroom, playing dress up, and making cookies, or rather, one giant cookie.
They also played music together. :)
I am so thankful for the friends all of us have made in Charlotte.
And on Labor Day we took Allie's friends Emma and Annie to play laser tag. Oh how we love this sneaky game!

And after we ran around and sweated like crazy in the laser tag maze, we had to enjoy a quick treat of yogurt to cool down. :)
I am so grateful for every second I have with my precious family and the sweet moments the Lord has given us over the last three years in NC. What a treasured gift. I am curious to see what God has for our next chapter in Georgia! Stay tuned for more details and obviously, a new name for Citizens of the Queen!
