Allie is 12!

This past week we had the most marvelous family time, celebrating Thanksgiving, hanging out with friends, and most importantly, celebrating Allie's life!

As mentioned in my last post, Allie just turned 12 on November 15th. Each year for Allie's birthday Zach and I make custom birthday t-shirts. In the past, Allie has picked the theme (wolves, islands, etc), but this year she was open to suggestions so Zach took creative license. This year's tee ended up being a long list of awesome things about Allie. Needless to say, she liked the shirt. :)

Rockin' my shirt for Al
As usual, birthdays involve a few gifts. Allie seemed to love all the vintage treasures we got for her. (I love love love to wrap beautiful gifts. :))

 Jewelry box
 Locket of love

And the button necklace from Aunt Lindsay!
Also, a birthday would not be a birthday without some of your favorite treats. I whipped up some chocolate covered oreos and oreo cupcakes to celebrate Allie's big day!
Allie loves to make silly faces in photos. I know I have mentioned it before because it provides hours of entertainment for her. Ha! So time with Allie, especially a birthday celebration, would not be complete without some silliness.

Man oh man do we love this girl to pieces! We have seriously had the best time this week and my heart is so full. In addition to bday stuff, we took a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge with Allie's friends, celebrated Thanksgiving, had fancy afternoon tea at the Ballantyne Resort to celebrate the bday, decorated our Christmas tree, had a P Day, and few other things I will post about separately, in greater detail. :)

I have loved every second of quality time with Allie this week and as usual, tried to just soak it up. We've had some wonderful conversations and worked together too. Allie and I did some cooking together this week, which not only included Thanksgiving, but some fresh chocolate chip cookies to give to her friends on their way out to play.
This week has also been full of many firsts for Allie. She road the Howlin' Tornado at GWL, a crazy water ride that is for daredevils (more deets later), she flew unaccompanied for the first time (more deets later!) and she got her very first phone! Needless to say she was most excited about the last one. :)
Stay tuned for more on all our family adventures! I seriously have like... 13 other drafts of blog posts waiting to go up so keep checking back! :)
