Color Combos

So again, another Pinterest find. It's amazing what a network of creative, inspired, passionate people can bring to your life!

I recently stumbled across Design Seeds, a blog and book, created for sharing beautiful and unique color palettes. The designer, Jessica Colaluca, has over 16 years of experience in product design, color forecasting, and is considered a specialist in color and material selection. Since childhood, she has loved arranging colors and coordinating palettes responding to things found in everyday life. I find her work so fascinating and eye-opening to color and relationships I have never noticed myself.

If you are looking for some inspiration or are re-desiging a room at your house I highly recommend checking out her palettes. They seriously make me wanna re-do everything! (but I won't, don't worry. Ha!)

Here are a few of my favorite color combinations that I find completely gorgeous...

You can look through Jessica's entire book of design seeds on Blurb for some serious inspiration! Click here!

Food for Thought

So I love to cook food, eat food, and serve food, but I really really love to look at food. I love food photography and find it so inspiring. I feel like in another life I would have been a food photographer. :)

Lately I have gotten into Pinterest (you can follow me here!) and have really enjoyed finding new recipes and cooking inspiration.

Check out my awesome finds! I will be making this stuff before the summer is out!

Basil lemonade
Fruit salsa with cinnamon chips
Grown up grilled cheese with avocado, bacon, apple slices, pepperjack cheese
Grilled shrimp with cilantro, lime, and peanuts
Peanut butter pretzel sandwiches dipped in chocolate. Totally making these for Z.
Fruit popsicles

Here are just some great photos of some delicious foods and beverages I find super beautiful and inspiring.

Two Weeks

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing little William Gertig just two weeks old! His awesome parents Amanda and Andrew are friends of ours here in Charlotte.

William is completely adorable and pretty photogenic for a newborn! Even though he was pretty squirmy and the daylighting was dwindling, we were able to capture some great shots.

Here are my favs...

For more of William's cute photos, check out Urban Cotton!

We are so happy for you Andrew and Amanda and are excited to see what God has in store for your family of three!

My Haven Boutique

I am super excited to announce that My Haven Boutique (previously the Cool Mom Boutique) has opened a location at Black Lion! (10605 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC) This boutique is completely FABULOUS and is owned by my friends Susie Weiler and Amy Weiler. They sell everything from clothing to home products.

I ran by last week to help Susie arrange some of their awesome display pieces and furniture. Check out how adorable everything turned out!

Tops and sweaters are hung off glass door knobs on an old wooden door.

Love this dress!

Travis + Jackie

This past week I had the pleasure of doing an engagement shoot for two of our dear friends, Travis and Jackie. Travis, who I wrote about in the "Prove my Love" post back in June, recently joined the FHC staff as the Associate Minister of Worship. We are so excited to have Travis and Jackie as part of our FHC family!

Travis and Jackie as so adorable and so easy to photograph! Good grief! Their chemistry is undeniable. The interior photos were taken at the Renaissance South Park Hotel and the exterior were at Bryon's South End. Really great spaces with loads of ambient light. Perfection.

Here are a few of my favs from the shoot...

For the rest of their gorgeous photos, check out Urban Cotton! We love you guys and can't wait for you to be husband and wife!
