Dancin' Fools

Our first weekend with Allie in Charlotte just came to a close and it was way too short. Zach and I were beyond excited to have her here and can't wait for her to come back in a few weeks. Even though it has been an unusually long time since we were together, I am so thankful it always is such an easy and natural transition for all of us, like we've never been apart.

Al is such an amazing young lady. Gosh I wish everyone could meet her. She seriously just... has a way of enchanting everyone around her. It was really fun to introduce her to all our friends and co-workers who were so anxious to meet her. It warmed our hearts to see those near and dear to us in Charlotte loving on our sweet Allie so much these past few days.

So even though we have a blast just sitting on the sofa watching movies, we did do some pretty fun stuff and of course I took pics. :) So this post isn't insanely long I'm just gonna post on our weekend activities for the next few days.

A few weeks back I mentioned we had planned a Daddy-Daughter Dance for Al and Zach. It was hugely important to Zach that we do this and continue to show Allie what a treasure she is and also how a young lady should be treated. Even though we don't spend everyday with her, Zach is her primary male role model and it's important she sees how he treats not only her, but his wife, friends, co-workers, leadership, and authority.

Anyways, Friday night Zach put on his fancy suit and Allie got all dressed up in a new outfit. Since Al's favorite flower is the orchid, Zach gave her a beautiful orchid wrist corsage made of purple and white dendrobium and green hyperium.

Here are a few pre-dinner shots we took in the backyard.  Aren't they gorgeous? :)

Dinner was had at Ruby Tuesday, a Zach and Allie favorite. Afterwards, Zach took Allie to Yoforia for yogurt (of course).

We had to go with plan B for our dance venue, but it turned out awesome and was perfect for the night. I turned our downstairs porch into a cozy ballroom with white drapery, glittery white lights, and colorful stars.

Much fun and dancing was had by all. Here are a few action shots...

I was also encouraged to participate in all the crazy dancing. Here's me and Al playing in the drapery...
All in all it was a great night and I know it meant a lot to Allie. We actually kept up all the decor and had a short encore Saturday night with our friends Ryan and Bethany. Nothing can stop this dynamic daddy-daughter duo!
